Jocelyn Duncan the designer of our anxiety management workshop
Striding Forwards is using materials designed and developed by Jocelyn Duncan. Jocelyn is now retired and has passed the baton on to us to help people with their
mental health / illness and confidence problems. Here is Jocelyn pictured below.
Jocelyn suffered with mental health problems all of her life and fell on hard times mainly due to people not understanding her condition and what she was going through.
One day Jocelyn decided she wanted to treat her mental condition with her mind, not medication. She studied cognitive behaviour therapy at The College Ystrad Mynach and trained
with the Manic Depression Fellowship in an attempt to learn how to cope with her condition herself.
Working on these techniques for six years she found they worked and wanted to help others. Jocelyn went on to develop mental health packs, including a workshop based on understanding
anxiety.
Jocelyn developed a workshop where people could attend to learn how to gain better mental health and improved confidence.
In her first 12 months 500 places on the workshops were taken up.

Here are testimonials from people who have attended our workshop, clearly showing, how it has empowered them to a better quality of life being
managing their anxiety which has boosted their confidence.
"The workshop material has given me the confidence to get back into work where I have been for two years in June and doing well."
“I found the workshop very comforting being around fellow sufferers and exchanging stories of each other’s battles & experiences with anxiety.
It also helped that those conducting the workshop knew exactly how each of us were feeling being fellow sufferers themselves.
The workshop has provided me with a better understanding of my confidence problems and given some useful coping tools to help me cope with my condition.
A very much worthwhile experience.”
